Maylarch Golf Day
On June 4th, Maylarch was hosting its first Golf Day at the Donnington Grove Country Club in Newbury. Twenty seven participants from regional and national construction businesses accepted the invitation to test their golfing skills.
After an initial 9 holes warm up in the morning, seven teams engaged in a full 18 holes tournament in the afternoon including challenges such as ‘longest drive’ and ‘nearest the pin’.
Although the game started in slightly wet conditions, it ended in glorious sunshine and the players were unanimous about the quality of the golf course.
After a well deserved dinner, the winning team was announced and prizes were given to Richard Cooper and Mike Benfield (Comserve Projects Ltd), Colin Latimer (Beard Swindon Ltd) and Nick Shepherd (Maylarch), with Mike Benfield also winning the individual title.
This event was also the occasion to raise funds and awareness to the Mesothelioma UK charitable trust that provide free specialist information, support and improved care and treatment to people affected with Mesothelioma.
