Knowing your responsibility regarding Asbestos
The HSE has re-launched its communication campaign called ‘Asbestos: The Hidden Killer’ whose aim is to raise awareness of the danger of Asbestos, especially for tradespeople.
Construction workers, carpenters, painters, decorators are all amongst those who can regularly come into contact with the deadly material and when looking at the figures, they are clearly paying a high price for this proximity.
Currently in the UK, 20 tradespeople, on average, die every week from asbestos related diseases and the worst part is that the death rate among tradesmen is still increasing.
To try and tackle this, the HSE has launched a new campaign along with an online application to help determine the presence of asbestos and how to avoid putting oneself at risk.
