National Apprenticeship Week (5th – 9th March 2018) Meet our Apprentice

Meet Michael Mullan our Asbestos Removal apprentice. Michael joined us with a host of transferable skills and has soon become a valued member of the team.

Michael is following the Specialist Apprenticeship Programme (SAP) delivered nationwide by ACAD, the funded route to NVQ competence for the Licensed Asbestos sector. We caught up with him on a local removal site to ask a few questions!

Why did you choose an apprenticeship route? - 'I wanted to obtain an in depth knowledge and training for my role and also to open opportunities once I completed the training'
What did you do before joining Maylarch - 'I was a Conference Services manager and before that I worked in hotel management'
What is the best bit of your current job - 'I like the new challenges that each job presents and also working within the asbestos team'
How you spend your spare time - 'I have a young family and spend my time with them'

Maylarch are members of the 5% Club and have a commitment to strive to achieve 5% of their workforce in ‘earn and learn’ positions (including apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes).
